The Lake Port Square retirement community in Leesburg has announced that Randy Blankenchip is the new director of culinary services.

At Lake Port Square, Blankenchip will bring 43 years of industry expertise, elevating the already award-winning dining experience in the community.

“We are delighted to have Randy join our team,” said Walt Stroly, executive director at Lake Port Square. “Given his impressive background, which includes an incredibly successful career in the food industry, we are confident that Randy and the expertise he possesses will be a valuable asset to our community.”

“Lake Port Square is renowned for providing outstanding services to its residents, and I’m thrilled to be a part of its exceptional team,” said Blankenchip. “I’m eager to contribute to this wonderful community and work towards enhancing the already great dining experience for its residents.”

Prior to Lake Port Square, Blankenchip worked as an operations expert, successfully guiding new store openings to profitability as quickly as possible. Additionally, before relocating to Florida in 2017, Blankenchip opened a Texas Roadhouse franchise in Northern California, which rapidly became the sixth highest-grossing location out of 600 locations nationwide.

Blankenchip is also a proven leader in the communities he serves. During his tenure as owner and operator of Texas Roadhouse, Blankenchip established himself as the go-to fundraising expert for non-profits, schools, churches and little league teams. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he was awarded the titles of Businessman of the Year and Business of the Year in 2015.

Outside of his culinary expertise, Blankenchip enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with Sue, his wife of 43 years, as well as his daughter Ashley, son-in-law Larence, granddaughter Brynn and grandson Rio.
